Exactly. If the whole point of the accomplice is to draw attention to the VIP room, then there's no reason for the murder to actually take place there at all. All that's important is setting up the illusion. As long as people THINK the murder happened in the room, it looks like an impossible case.

But if the murder never happened in the room at ALL... then there's no locked room to speak of! That murder could have happened anywhere!
