The New OCs CMO
This is a CMO for five OCs I've yet to do any threads with! Pick an OC, pick a prompt from the lists below or the alternate links or just make shit up, let's go. Handwaved CR, AUs, setting transplants, anything's fair game.
Left to right, we have:
Hye-Jin Seong, a magical girl princess from the Kingdom of Knowledge. Extremely short, irritable, voracious reader, politically active - despite being a member of the royal family, she has a tendency to go on long rants about abolishing the monarchy. New to Earth, but doing a lot of research on how to fit in there.
Some possible prompts:
1. You said something that launched her into a political ramble that seems like it won't end
2. Magical girl team up?
3. Short person VS tall person hostilities
Fia, the last hope of a dying world. Cursed with corruption and mana poisoning that are slowly eating her body, she also has the ability to manipulate mana on a huge scale. This ability might be the only way to stop her planet from dying, so she sets forth on a doomed voyage towards the heart of hell itself while facing her own mortality.
Some possible prompts:
1. Aboard the mobile fortress Sindri's Garden, a moment of peace and de-stressing in the face of overwhelming doom waiting on the road ahead
2. Who wants to learn just how fucked up Fia's body is from all the magical chaos tearing it apart
3. Monster Fighting! The forces of chaos and corruption are terrifying and vast and she has, like, a gun, so she could use some backup
Stella Flynn, a magical girl(?) who started her magical career at age 33. Genderfluid, dumb, full of friendship and anxiety. Her magical awakening was delayed by 20 years, so now she has to figure out how to recapture the magic of youth and imagination as an adult who's seen how shitty the world can be.
Some possible prompts:
1. Punching monsters / each other while yelling about friendship
2. Getting drunk at a bar and complaining about how life is hard and the younguns don't know how good they've got it
3. Magical girl / Magical adult mentor???
Black Moon Pierce, a wandering knight who ran away from his old life as a noble lady to pursue a life of swordsmanship and adventure. Swears allegiance to nobody, rarely takes his armor off. Trying REAL HARD to be cool and badass, not always succeeding.
Some possible prompts:
1. First time meeting the infamously reckless, violent, and unkillable Black Moon Knight - does he live up to the hype?
2. After hanging out with him a few times, the helmet comes off and now friendship begins. Pierce will now DIE FOR YOU
3. Tavern brawl
Tangram, an otherworldly outsider from beyond the stars who's here for the drama. Lives on a diet of magic items, ignores gravity, full of confusion and mystery and bastard energy. What's their DEAL?
Some possible prompts:
1. Come on, it's not even THAT good of a magic item, can't you just let me eat it instead of trying to use it
2. Tangram why are you just watching instead of helping with this extremely dangerous situation
3. The moon is out, meaning that Tangram's moonlight allergies are acting up and they feel like SHIT
If those prompts aren't doing it for you, here's SEVERAL MORE:

[ She says that... just a touch too quick. ]
I'm not really hungry, so I'll just get some ice tea or something. You want something to drink, too?
no subject
Anika, what is this about?
no subject
[ She has the absolute audacity to look mildly shocked at being caught out. ]
It's... it's not really about anything! Nothing big or scary, I just... well, I wanted to ask you something. And I kind of feel like you're the only one I'd get a straight answer out of.
no subject
Sure, I'm not really the type to dance around the truth. What did you want to know?
no subject
[ She... kind of wishes she'd gotten a drink, now. Just something to fiddle with as they talk, rather than just fidgeting at her hands. Or at least something to look at, so it's not quite as transparent that she's not meeting Hye-Jin's gaze. ]
This whole... princess thing, with the fighting and everything else. I just wanted to know... how do you even do it? Aren't you scared?
no subject
I mean... yeah, I'm scared. I guess that if I didn't fight, other people would get hurt, and that's scarier than having to fight.
Honestly, I don't think I could do it alone. You don't have to, either. We've got your back, you know?
no subject
[ For a moment, it seems like that non-commital hum is the only answer she's going to give. But then, in a bit of a rush, like she wants to get them out before she can take them back: ]
It's just– even if I was fighting with you guys and not alone, I still can't imagine doing it. My legs go shaky. And I really don't think I could do it and I just... I was wondering, maybe... if that's why I can't yet.
[ She's a coward, after all. She wasn't even brave enough to be straightforward with Hye-Jin about bringing her here. ]
no subject
[ She's not the best at encouragement, but she's gotta say something. It would be awful not to. ]
...first of all, that's a really smart and reasonable reaction to what you're going through. Don't feel bad about being afraid, or even about not reacting the same way that we did. I grew up knowing about... well, not all of this stuff, but enough of it that I at least had an idea of what I was getting into. You grew up on Earth, so you probably didn't even know about magic until you got wrapped up in this mess.
no subject
[ But... well, she knows too much now. As nice as it would be for someone to finally yell "sike!" and show her where the hidden camera is. ]
And don't get me wrong, I really do want to help! You guys are risking your lives out there, but... every time I think about doing it, I kind of want to throw up. And I don't know how to... not feel like that.
no subject
[ At least she's being honest? ]
I guess... it's different for each person? Half of what keeps me going is knowing that someone out there thinks I can't. I do things just to prove I can, or because everyone thinks it doesn't matter if I can or not. I don't know. Sometimes I'm just fueled entirely by spite. If you asked the other girls, you'd probably get a totally different answer from each one.
Wait, maybe that's it. You should ask everyone what keeps them going. Maybe then you'll be able to figure out your own stuff or whatever. [ Or whatever? God, she sucks at this so bad. ]
no subject
[ And if she can work out the right way to ask it, she can get her answers without having to lay all her worries out on the table again. Which is maybe a little cowardly of her (okay, definitely more than a little) but everyone already has so much on their minds and Anika complaining about her comparatively tiny problems... it's kind of tasteless.
Especially since she's the one causing them so many problems in the first place. ]
Um– none of them have any bad reasons for doing this, right? Or I guess, not bad exactly, but... I won't be asking them to talk about something really personal if I go around asking? I get that it's gonna be a little personal however I ask it, but... I just don't want to touch any sore nerves, I guess.
no subject
...Huh. That's a lot less information than she thought. Is she actually bad at friendship? ]
You're probably fine? If they don't want to talk about it, they probably won't, so as long as you don't press the issue after that you're good.
no subject
[ Or Anika says something awful by accident and it turns into a big fight!!! Even if the chances of that happening are basically zero, she's going to obsess over it anyway. That be the anxiety. ]
Maybe I'll just splash out and treat everyone else to sweets, too. It's hard to be in a bad mood when you're eating something tasty.
no subject
I know I'm not above being bribed with food.
no subject
[ So she says with a little smile. ... a smile that admittedly dims a bit when the mille-feuille gets set in front of Hye-Jin and Anika realizes... oh. She straight up didn't order anything for herself, did she. ]
... you know, now I kind of wish I'd ordered one too.
no subject
You paid for it, so take what you want.
no subject
[ Your sacrifice of one (1) mille-feuille has appeased her. Maybe one and a half. We'll see how much self-control she has.
She waits until Hye-Jin takes a bite of hers, though. They're already one of Anika's favourite treats, but she really wants to see if Hye-Jin likes them, too. ]
So? What's the verdict?
