ULTIMATE DUNGEON: Prologue

the_dungeonmaster[PSL Start! Characters: Phoenix (Human Hero), Hector (Human Fighter), Usagi (Moon Princess Magic-User), Lori (Elven Cleric), Darkwing Duck (Duckfolk Rogue).]
The five of you have been, on a day like any other, transported magically across time and space! When your mystical journey ends, you find yourselves atop a mountain, surrounded by rich, vibrant landscape in all directions. At the mountain's peak is what appears to be a volcano caldera, but instead of a pool of lava, it contains a spiral staircase leading down into the mountain.
All of this would be a lot more majestic if it weren't for the heavy pixelation and limited color palette.
Above the mountaintop, an emblem in the shape of ablocky triangle pyramid adorned with an all-seeing eye appears, looking down on the gathered heroes. "GREETINGS," it intones, accompanied by subtitles appearing underneath it.
"I AM THE DUNGEON MASTER. YOU HEROES HAVE BEEN CALLED HERE IN ORDER TO CONQUER THE ULTIMATE DUNGEON. IN DOING SO YOU WILL SAVE THE UNIVERSE FROM CERTAIN DESTRUCTION. MANY TRAPS AND FOES AWAIT BELOW... DO YOU HAVE THE COURAGE, CUNNING AND STRENGTH TO OVERCOME THEM?"

-Investigating your new Status Screen!
-Exploring the pixelated countryside! However, if you stray too far from the peak, you'll find that what appears to be miles of untamed wilderness is just a very elaborate vista drawn on a cube surrounding the dungeon entrance. The only real exit is into the ULTIMATE DUNGEON.
